The book covers many things about pizza and is a book great for the would be proffesional, pro or pizza geek! Make pizzeria style pizza with real recipes that are not dumbed down for ease of preparation. Highly reccomend !

Best book I have on pizza

I have about a dozen books on Pizza. This is by far the most helpful book I have on how to make a great pizza. My other books are "cooks books". The Encylopizza is written for people who either run, want to run a pizza restaurant or just want to know the science that goes on when you mix water flour and yeast.

Each person has about 3-5 pages worth of information of their life and what they contribute to the theatre. The writing is interesting with little fun filled facts and is a good book for those who want to get an idea who the person is without having to go to deep. Great reference book. Most helpful book on eating disorders I've read yet

Of all the books I have read on eating disorders, and I have read many, Laurie's is the most powerful and encouraging by far for me. Written in a beautifully personal, uncomplicated style, you just know Laurie is cheering for you, praying for you, and knows what you are going through. A major element of the book's strength is the liberal reference to Scriptures that tie into why we engage in these destructive eating behaviors, and how God can help us heal - if we let Him. A credentialled counsellor, Laurie has crafted thought-provoking questions in each chapter that brought me to important awareness of my issues and barriers to healing. Unlike another reviewer of this book, I didn't see any connection to OA or the 12 steps. I highly recommend this small, but mighty book for hope and help to overcome eating disorders!

If you're not sure whether to invest in this book ...

If you're not sure whether to invest in this book, do it. However, I will say that you need to be ready to read it- you cannot force yourself to want to do the things suggested in this book. I owned it for over 2 years before I got past the first couple of chapters because I just wasn't ready. I battled an eating disorder for almost 30 years, so I understand the struggle all too well. If any book out there puts the struggle down on paper in a concise, yet tender, articulate, and encouraging way, this is it. It speaks exactly what I have felt, and then it uses Scripture to guide my thinking and emotions through each particular facet of the disorder and recovery. If I can do it, you can too, and you won't regret it. There IS freedom!

About the Author

Originally from Texas, Dorothy Morrison now lives the magical life in Maine with her family. Dorothy is a member of the Pagan Poet's Society and a charter member of M.A.G.I.C., a magical writer's and artist's organization. Dorothy is a Wiccan High Priestess of the Georgian Tradition, and has been an avid practitioner of the ancient arts for more than twenty years. She founded the Coven of the Crystal Garden in 1986, and spent many years teaching the Craft of Wicca to students both in the United States and in Australia.

A former state championship archer and bow hunter, Dorothy's current interests include Tarot work, magical herbalism, stonework, and computer networking.

Dorothy's work has been published in many journals and magazines, including Circle Network News, SageWoman, and Crone Chronicles. Pot pourri of interesting ideas and good bed time reading...

Dorothy Morrison's BUD, BLOSSOM & LEAF contains something old, something new and some things borrowed from other gardeners, as well as a good deal of original material based on her own experiences. She combines all these bits of gardening wisdom and lore into a practical but fun book that has more to do with using herbs than growing them. I appreciate the old bits, such as being reminded of the multiple uses of Chamomile, a natural antibiotic remedy and a soothing balm, and new information seldom found in gardening books - such as how to make wine from excess fruit and other plant materials. The best part of her book is entitled "Mother Nature's Household" where Ms Morrison offers ideas and suggestions for everything from `Cleaning with Herbs' to `Herbal Beauty'. She includes recipes for products for the bath and boudoir, as well as the kitchen.
If you are a new gardener, you will probably want to purchase another gardening book that goes into greater depth concerning the care and feeding (growing) of herbs, as Ms Morrison's discussion of gardening techniques is directed to the experienced gardener and, not the novice. There are a number of herbal gardening books on the market, for example Rodale'S ILLUSTRATED ENCYCLOPEDIA OF HERBS, which is a good place to begin to learn more about herbs. Herbs are generally annuals (Basil, balms, Borage) or perennials (Lavender, Artemisia, Echinacea) so bed preparation is similar to that undertaken for flower gardening. However, every experienced gardener knows not all flowers have the same requirements. For example, if you are going to raise lavender, it helps to know that it prefers dry alkaline growing conditions. Like most flowers, most herbs require lots of sun (many come from the Mediterranean), so you'll have better luck growing herbs on a sunny balcony, than in a shady moist location.
